Sacharias Jansen and Antoni van Leeuwenhoek were crucial for the development of the microscope. Officially Sacharias invented the microscope, and Antoni improved it. However, there’s also many sources claiming Sacharias’s son lied about his father’s inventions. Regardless, the micro-world has been an integral part of Dutch history for centuries now. A small country focusing on a small world. The microscopic world plays a big role in science to this day. Physicists, mathematicians, chemists, and biologists all study this tiny, tiny world.
